James Boman, farmer, sec 2; P. O., Plymouth; is a native of Georgia, born August
10, 1803; came to this State in 1815 and to this county in 1834. In 1825 he was married in Sangamon county to Arcade Sturgis, a
native of North Carolina, born February 28, 1802; they are the parents of 11 children – Ezekiel C., John R., William S.,
Melinda J., Rebecca J., James B., R. M., Benjamin R., A. J., Margaret A. and Arcade E. Mr. B was in the Mormon war. He owns 70
acres of land, belongs to the M. E. Church, is a Democrat and is one of the old and honored citizens of Hancock
county.
