Richard L. Bleville passes away at his home Thursday, Dec. 8, 1966.
Born at Augusta, May 2, 1905, he was a son of Frank and Letha Clark
Belville. He was by trade a blacksmith and mechanic.
On Dec. 19, 1925 he was married to Maude Barnard at Nauvoo. She
survives. He was a member of the Bentley Christian Church.
Surviving besides his wife are a daughter, Mrs. Oral Lawrence of
Carthage; a brother Donald of Nauvoo; a sister, Mrs. D. J. McClure of
Rockwell City, Iowa and three grandsons.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.

Mrs. Carter, aged 63 dies near LaHarpe
Funeral services were held at the Disco Methodist Church on Monday
afternoon and other brief rites were conducted before burial at McIntyre
chapel, Franklin, Kentucky, yesterday at 10: A.M. for Mrs. Mary Isabelle
Carter,63, who succumbed at a rather extended illness at 1:00 A.M.
Sunday, July 19, 1942, at the home of her son Oscar Carter, on the Riesel
Sister' farm, in Durham township. Mrs. Carter's migration to
illinois and thes immediate community, where she had resided the past
fifteen years, was preceded by tragedy. It was just 28 years ago, that
during the family's residence in Kentucky her husband and their
oldest son, Wash burned to death in an effort to remove several head of
livestock and mules from a buring barn.
Family members tell of how Mr. Carter and the oldest son had driven the
stock to safety. Then, the animals became panic-stricken, and returned
to the blazing structure. Following them into remove them again, the doo
latched behind, and falling timbers of the barn super structure held them
captive for tragic death. It was shortly after she came to Illinois and
settled in a home of her own at Burnside, that Mrs. carter's health
began to fail, and she moved to the home of her son.
Families of her eight surviving children were in the Disco Curch on
Monday to pay final respects at services, at which Rev. Richard C.
Muhleman officiated; and several accompanied the remains to Kentucky for
interment.
Sons and daughters left to moun Mrs. Carter's passing and James and
Oscar, both of near LaHarpe; Leonard of Niota; Crit of Colchester, Thula
(Mrs. C.M. Petty) and Aggie (Mrs. Ed Henson) of La Harpe; Mrs. Pearl
McCarty of near Aledo, Mrs. Nettie Smith of Kentucky. Mrs. Carter as
Mary Isaabelle Roberts, was born near Franklin, Kentucky a daughter of
Wash and Mary Ann (Parker) Roberts, one December 13, 1873.

Mrs. Agnes Henson, 83, passed away at 9:25 P.M., April 15, 1983 at the
LaHarpe Extended Care Facility.
She was born April 20, 1899, in Jackson County, Tennessee, to Dock and
Isabelle Roberts Carter. She married Edgar Henson at Mitchellville,
Tenn., Jan. 2, 1915. He died June 30, 1977.
Surviving are two sond, James D. of Plymouth, and Donald of Westmorland,
Ten., one daughter, Thula Hallmark of New Boston, Ill., one sister, Mrs
Pearl McCarty of Dowds, Iowa; 16 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren,
and one great-great grandchild.
Funeral services were held at 1 P.M. Tuesday, April 19, 1983, at
McKendree Chapel, Franklin, Kentucky. Burial was in McKendree Chapel
Cemetry. The family met with friends from 7 to 9 Sunday Evening at the
Banks and Beals Funeral Home in La Harpe.

Leonard F. Carter, 58, passed away suddenly at 7:40 P>M> Wednesday,
March 31, 1965, at his home near Golden's Point Christian Church.
His death was unexpected and came as a severe shock to his family and
friends.
Leonard Francis Carter, was born March 11, 1907, at Franklin, Ky., the
son of Dock and Isabell Roberts Carter. A farmer, he had lived in the
Nauvoo community for 24 years. On February 1927 at Mitchellville,
Tennessee, he married Mary B. Knight, who survives.
Also surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Robert(Doris) Adamson, of
Tifton, Ga., Mrs. Jerry(Geyy) Kipp of Danville, Iowa, and Mrs.
Donald(Patti Jo) Kinman, of Nauvoo; seven grandchildren; three brothes,
James W. Carter, of Nauvoo; Crit Carter of Blandinsville, and Oscar
Carter, of LaHarpe; four sisters, Mrs. Nettie Smith, Indianapolis, Bind;
Mrs. Ed Henson, LaHarpe, and Mrs. Eldridge McCarty, Salem, Ia
His parents and one brother are deceased.
Funeral services were held Saturday at 2:00P.M., in the Nauvoo Fisher
Funeral Home, with the Rev. George J. Hockley, pastor of Christ Lutheran
Church officiating. Interment was in the Nauvoo City Cemetery.

She was born on August 1, 1910, in Bowling Green, Ken..the daughter of
James L. and Minnie M. Meador Knight. On Feb. 19, 1927, she married
Leonard F. Carter in Mitchellville, Tenn. He preceded her in death.
She is survived by two daughters, Pattie J. (Donald) Kinman of Nauvoo,
and Geri Kepp of West Burlington, Iowa; seven grandchildren; six great
grandchildren; one great great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Doris
Carter Adamson; one sister, Bertha Neely; one brother Norman Knight.
She was of the Southern Baptist faith. She enjoyed flowers and spending
time with her family.
Grave side services was held Monday, Oct. 22, at Nauvoo City Cemetery in
Nauvoo, with Pastor Tom Krieger officiating.

James W. Carter 72, of Nauvoo passed away Tuesday, March 14, 1967, at
8:05 A.M. in St. Joseph Hospital, Keokuk, where he had been a patient the
past two weeks.
Born October 6, 1894, in Allen county, Kentucky, he was the son of Doc
and Isabel Roberts Carter. He was a farmer until his retirement several
years ago and had been a resident of Nauvoo for the past 25 years. He
was a member of the First Methodist church of Hillsdale, Kentucky.
On November 17, 1918, at Mitchellville, Tennessee, he married Martha
Cameron, who survives.
Also surviving are sour sons; Clifford, of LaHaarpe, Milton and Regionald
of Nauvoo, and Guy of Kansas City, Mo.; three daughters Shirley of
Nauvoo, Mrs. Joyce Bray, of Burlington, Iowa, and Mrs. Cecelia Harry of
Phoenix, Ariz.; two brothers Oscar of LaHarpe and Crit of Blandinsville;
four sisters, Mrs. Nettie Smith, Indianapolis, Ind., Mrs Ed(Agnes)
Henson, LaHarpe; Mrs Darthula Petty, LaHarpe and Mrs. Eldridge McCarty,
Selma, Iowa, ten grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, one in
infancy.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday(today) at 12:00 noon form the
Nauvoo Fisher Funeral Home, with Rev. David L. Bulteneier officiating.
Interment will be in the Nauvoo City Cemetery.

On Nov. 17, 1918, in Mitchellville, Tenn., she married to James W.
Carter, who preceded her in death in 1967.
Survivors include four sons: James M., West Burlington, Clifford H.,
Burnside, Reginald, Nauvoo, Guy N., Clarinda; three daughters, Mrs. Carl
(Mary) Bray, West Burlington, Mrs. Gary (Shirley) Black, Nauvoo, and Mrs.
Edward(Cecelia) Harry also of Nauvoo, 12 grandchildren and eight great
grandchilden.
Beside her husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers and a
sister. Her parents were John and Marinda Whitehead Cameron.

of nauvoo with Pastor Mary Boyer and the Rev. Richard Frankson
officiating. Burial was in the Nauvoo City Cemetery.

Shrine Temple in Peoria, Plymouth Chapter#38 Order of Eastern Star,
Plymouth American Legion Post#912, Carthage V.F.W. and 40&8 Club in

daughters, Mrs. Connie Breeden of Plymouth, Mrs. Andera Herriman of
Dallas City, and Mrs. Rose Ann Carle of Denver, Colo.; a brother Donald

Kenneth W. Petty, 82 of rural Carthage, died Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2006 at
the LaHarpe-Daview Health Care Center in LaHarpe.
He was born April 28, 1923, in Disco, a son of Clkarence M. and Darthula
Carter Petty. On Jan. 3, 1946, he married Virginia Anderson in Plymouth.
She died Dec. 7, 1987. He is survived by one daughter, Linda (Jim)
Faulkner of Carthage; one son, Charles W. Petty of Ashford, Iowa; two
grandchildren, Tammy Rampley of Burlington, Iowa and James M. Faulkner
Jr. of Carthage; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild,
and two sisters, Isabel Starbuck of Blandinsville and Deanna Mershon of
Macomb.
He was preceded in death by his wife and one sister and two brothers.
He was raised in the LaHarpe area and had lived in Hamilton for many
years before moving to rural Carthage. He served in the US Marine Corps
during World War II and received two Purple Hearts. He farmed and was a
commercial fisherman and enjoyed hunting. He was of the Christian Faith.
Services were held Saturday, Feb. 4, at Banks and Beals Funeral Home in
LaHarpe. Bob Tillman officiated. A memorial fund has been established.

Mrs. Virginia A. Petty, 64, of Phenix, Ariz., formerly of Hamilton, died
Monday (Dec. 7, 1987) in St. Joseph Hospital in Phenix.
Mrs. Petty was born March 26, 1923, in Colchester, a daughter of Gary and
Nellie Gillyspie Anderson. She married Kenneth Petty Jan. 3, 1946, in
Plymouth. He survives.
Mrs. Petty had lived in Phoenix for four years.
Survivors also include a daughter, Mrs. James (Linda) Faulkner of
Carthage; two sisters, Mrs. Marie McKee of Phoenix and Mrs. Luella Cooper
of Taylor Ridge; a granddaughter; and two great-grandchildren. She was
preceded in death by her parents and a sister.

Robert C. King, 58, of Indianola, Iowa, passed away Thursday, October 21,
1999, of a heart attack at Columbia Medical Center, Arlington, Tx.
Robert King was born in LaHarpe, on May 9, 1941. He had worked American
Airlines for 40 years, living in Arlington, Tx. and Martenburg, Indiana,
before moving to Indianola in 1986.
At the time of his death he was a Fleet Service Supervisor. He traveled
to Arlington, Texas, weekly to work and returned home one the weekends
for the last 5 years.
He was a member of Isaack Walton League in Indianola.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra King, of Indianola, Ia.; three sons,
Clayton King of Spanaway, Washington, Douglas King of Arlington, Texas,
Daniel King, who is stationed in Japan; one daughter Susan Pottebaum of
Indianola, Ia.; his mother Thula Hallmark of New Boston; four brothers
Jim King of LaHarpe, Tom King of Aledo, Lynn King and Tim King bothe of
Burlingon, Ia. and six grandsons.
Funeral services were held at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church,
Indianola, Iowa. Burial was in I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Indianola, Ia.

Carol F. Boone, 45, of LaHarpe died Sunday (Aug. 16, 1987) in an
automobile accident five miles west of Monmouth on U.S. 34.
Mrs. Boone was born in LaHarpe one Dec. 25, 1941, a daughter of Luther
and Okle Campbell Browning. She married Larry Boone June 19, 1960, at
LaHarpe. He survives.
Mrs. Boone was a lifetime resident of LaHarpe. She owned and operated
Carol's Flower nook in LaHarpe and Carol's Country Creations in
Nauvoo. She was a member of Abundant Life Outreach Center, LaHarpe,
Carnegie Library Board and LaHarpe Golden Rule Club.
Surviving are her parents of LaHarpe; two daughters, Brenda Thompson and
Mrs. Ira Rebecca Willey both of LaHarpe; a brother, Leon Browing of rural
LaHarpe; a sister Mrs. William Elizabeth Olson of rural LaHarpe; and four
grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by an infant sister.
Services are pending at Banks and Beals Funeral Home in LaHarpe

Denver Petty, 82, of LaHarpe died Monday Sept. 21 in the LaHarpe-Davier
Health Care Center.
He was born Nov. 4, 1909, in Bowling Green, Ky., the son of Clarence and
Sally Kate Lothridge Petty. On May 11, 1930, he married Margie Thompson
in Dallas City.
He farmed and raised livestock for 47 years on his farm south of Lomax.
He moved to LaHarpe in 1976. He was a member of the Disco United
Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife; two sons, James Petty of Wilmington, and Gary
Petty of Dallas City; five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews
including Robert Petty of Colchester and Michael Petty of Macomb who
lived in the Petty home. Also surviving are two half-sisters, Mrs.
Isabel Starbuck of Blandinsville, and Mrs. Deanna Mershon of LaHarpe; and
three half brothers, Clarence "Sam" Petty of LaHarpe, Kenneth
Petty of Hamilton, and Jack Petty of Albequerque, N.M.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Halie St. Clair, Ethel Quell
and Irene Petty; fove brothers, John, Joseph, Walter, Garland and James
Petty and one half sister Margaret Boone.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the LaHarpe, United
Methodist Church with the Rev. Lon Sims officiating. Burial will be in
the Dallas City Cemetery.

in Ferris and the Order of Eastern Star in Denver, Ill. She married
Ernest Lehman on Oct. 15, 1913, in Carthage. He died in 1941.
Surviving are one son Oliver of Rockford; one daughter, Mrs. Glen
(Gertrude) Roudebush of Canton; seven grandchildren; and 17 great
grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one brother and seven sisters.

Vernon LeRoy Boyer, 89, of Ferris, died at Memorial Hospital in Carthage
Monday, Dec. 16, 2002, of natural causes.
He was born Oct. 22, 1913, the son of Howard S. and Hazel Barnard Boyer.
On June 25, 1933, he married Luella Metternich in Hancock County. She
died April 1, 1999.
He is survived by five sons, Richard (Wanda) Ferris, Kenneth (Betty) of
Ferris, Darrell "Beano" (Judy) of Ferris, Earl (Dena) of
Nauvoo, and Alfred (Julie) of Hermosa Beach, Calif.; two sisters, Wilda
Neal and Thelma Pirtle, both of Washington, Ill., three brothers, Billy
(Betty) of Carthage, Leon (Geneva) of Adrian, and James (Betty) of
Carthage; 13 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-
grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Luella; one grandson,
Delbert Boyer; one brother, Hubert; two sisters, Helen Overlander and
Betty Henson.
He lived in Ferris for 67 years.
Visitation will be held form 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 19, at Neiser-
Printy Funeral Home in Carthage, with family meeting friends from 6 to 8
p.m.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday Dec. 20, at Neiser Printy

He was born Jan. 22, 1934, a son of Vernon L. and Luella M. Metternich
Boyer in Carthage. One June 12, 1955, he married Wanda Mae Lovell at the
Ferris Christian Church Parsonage.
He is survived by his wife, Wanda Mae of Ferris; three children, Joyce
(Charles) Burr of LaHarpe, Rich (Lori) Boyer of Blandinsville and Donna
(Jeff) Murrow of Chicago; seven grandchildren, Tyler, Kristin and Sarah
Walker, Kelsey and Nick Boyer, and Madeline and Jackson Murrow; one step-
grandson, Todd Burr; four brothers, Kenneth (Betty) Boyer of Ferris,
Darrell(Judy) Boyer of Nauvoo and Alfred Boyer of Hermosa Beach, Calif.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He attended school in Carthage, graduating in 1953. He worked at the
McCall elevator and Ferris Feed Mill after graduation. In 1975, he went
to work for the Contel Telephone company,retiring in 1992 after 17 years
of service. He worked four years with the Jim Dickerson Construction
company, helping to build the Methode Complexes in Carthage and Golden.
He was a member of the Ferris City Council and enjoyed deer hunting.
Funeral services were held today, Wednesday, April 19, at Printy Funeral
Home in Carthage. Burial followed in the Moss Ridge Cemetery in
Carthage.
Memorials may be directed to the Hancock County Cancer Association or the
Hancock County Volunteers for Diabetes.

He was born August 25, 1917, in Rock Creek Township, the son of Howard
and Hazel Barnard Boyer. He married Arlene Lee Bell on July 14, 1940 in
Carthage. She survives in Burnside.
He is also survived by one son, Arnold (and Nina) Boyer of Carthage; one
daughter-in-law Mrs. Jerry (Judy) Boyer of Carthage; four brothers,
Vernon Boyer of Ferris, Leon Boyer of Adrian, and William and James Boyer
of Carthage; three sisters, Mrs. Charles (Thelma) Pirtle and Wilda Neal,
of Washington, Ill. and Mrs. Herbert (Helen) Overlander of Mendon; four

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Jerry Boyer; infant

Boyer attended Hancock County Schools. He farmed with his father in the
rural Carthage Area. Since 1945, he and his wife farmed north of
Carthage.
He also bussed school children from rural Carthage, to Carthage Schools.
Boyer owned a milk truck and transported milk for Swift & Company in
Carthage for many years.
He was a member of the Ferris Christian Church, Ferris, and the Hancock
County Farm Bureau.
Services were held June 24, at Lamporte Funeral Home in Carthage with
Charles Ferguson officiating. Burial was in Moss Ridge Cemetery, in
Carthage. A memorial has been established in his memory.

Kansas City, Kansas, died at 12:05 A.M. Tuesday (March 9, 2004) in his
sons home in Rocky Comfort, Mo.
Born Oct 21, 1938, in Basco, he was a son of Melvin and Helen Boyer
Miller. He married Anita Rhinberger on April 15, 1961, in Quincy. She
survives.
Mr. Miller was a 1956 graduate of Warsaw High School. He served in the
Army from 1956-1961 in the ASA division. He lived in the Phenix area for
more than 20 years and in 1997 he retired form the adult probation
section of Maricopa county, Arizona.
Survivors also include two sons, David of Rocky Comfort and Terry of
Kansas City, Kansas, two brothers Raymond of Fulton, Mo. and Richard of
Marion; grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin Miller and Helen
Overlander, a son, Michael; and a brother, Robert.
Funeral services will be conducted at 7 P.M. Friday in the Hunter Funeral
Home in Mendon by Jim Gooding.
Visitation will be from 5 P.M. to the time of services Friday.

Obituary: CRASH FATAL TO ROBERT MILLER
Robert W. Miller, 26, formerly of Mendon, was killed in a spectacular
one-car accident at 2:40p.m. Monday at the Rock Creek bridge about two
miles south of Ursa. Mr. Miller was pronounced dead at the scene of the
accident. He was brought by ambulance to the Curry funeral home in
Mendon where Coroner Gerald Points impaneled a jury for an inquest at a
later date.
Witnesses report the Miller car, which was traveling south of Highway 96,
hit the abutement and bridge railing on the west side of the bridge and
the car "seemed to explode" with the rear section remaining on
the road-level of the north end of the bridge while the front portion of
the car broke into many pieces and was scattered about the scene.
Mr. Miller was found on the east shoulder of the highway, just north of
the bridge, according to witnesses.
He had lived in Quincy the past three years where he was an earth moving
foreman at Electric Wheel.
Mr. Miller was born Nov 23, 1939, in Hancock county, a son of Melvin and
Helen Boyer Miller. He graduated from Unity high school here and attended
Calvary Baptist church in Quincy. He was married, Sept 22, to Dorothy
Adair who survives.
He is also survived by his mother, Mrs. Herbert Overlander of Mendon; his
father, Melvin Miller of Basco; a step-daughter, Debbie Koch, and three
brothers, Raymond who is with the U.S. Army and is stationed at Redstone
Arsenal in Alabama, and Ronald and Richard, both of Mendon.

Thursday, July 11, 2002, in St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
He was born in Keokuk, on Dec. 22, 1948, a son of Oral C. and Katherine
M. Belville Lawrence. On Nov. 7, 1970, in the Elvaston Presbyterian
Church in Elvaston, he married Judy Spencer.
He is survived by his wife, Judy of Warsaw; his father, Oral
"Sickle" Lawrence of Ironwood, Ariz., three sons, Jason of
Warsaw, Jamie of Warsaw, and David of Springfield; one granddaughter,
Emily; one brother Trent (Ginger) Lawrence.
He grew up in Carthage and was a 1966 graduate of Carthage High School.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served during the Vietnam War. He was
a former Carthage City policeman, and since 1989 has been Deputy
Sheriff's Officer with the Hancock County Sheriff's Department.
He was a member and past president of the Hancock County Chapter
Fraternal Order of Police. He valued his relationship with all of his
co-workers and felt it was a very important part of life. He was well-
known for his volunteer work in Warsaw and around the area. He enjoyed
wood working, playing pool, motorcycle riding and computers. Most of all
he enjoyed spending time with his family.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, July 15, in the First
Prsbyterian Church in Warsaw with Rev. Will Olmsted officiating. Burial
with full military and police honors was in the Oakwood Cemetery in
Hamilton.
In liew of flowers, the family has requested memorial be made to the
Hancock County Chapter Fraternal Order of Police, the Warsaw Ambulance,
or First Presbyterian Church of Warsaw.

long illness.

was a member of Elvaston Presbyterian church, the Carthage American
Legion Post, Hamilton Veterans of Foreign Wars and was a veteran of World
War II and the Korean War. He had been employed as a correctional
officer in the drug room at Iowa Stat Prison.
Surviving with his wife and mother are a son, Alen of Sidney, Mont.; one
grand-daughter; a brother Loren of Carthage and two sisters, Ada Kerr of
Carthage and Loralee Freeman of Pekin. He was preceded in death by his
father and one sister Mae.

Mr. Austin died Friday morning, Sept. 1, 1978, in Veterans Hospital in
Iowa City, IA.
He was born July 6, 1925, in Denver, a son of Merlin and Wilma Barnard
Austin. He married Esta M. Foley Sept. 14, 1967, in Warsaw. He was a
member of St. Paul Episcopal Church in Warsaw, the Masonic Lodge,
American Legion Post, was a veteran of World War II and was employed in
the quality control department of ESB Inc., in Warsaw.
Surviving with his wife are three sons, Stephen, Michael and Jeffrey all
of Warsaw; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his
parents.

She was born Feb. 7, 1918 in Ferris, a daughter of Homer D. and Nellie T.
Boyer Seigfreid. She was employed for a number of years at Shellor Globe
in Keokuk, Iowa, and for a few years at Newsland.
She was a member of the Carthage Senior Citizens and Burnside Order of
Eastern Star 223.
Surviving are her mother of Carthage; two granddaughters; a brother,
Loren Seigfreid of Carthage; and a sister, Loralee Freeman of Pekin.
She was preceded in death by a son, Gary; her father; two sisters; and a
brother

Tuesday, March 24, in Memorial Hospital, Carthage.
She was born July 6, 1899, near Green Valley, a daughter of William and
Addie Woodruff Boyer. She married Homer D. Seigfreid in 1917, in Fort
Madison, Iowa. He died in 1949.
She operated a grocery store in Adrian and later moved to Carthage. She
was a member of the Adrian Christian Church.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Lora Lee Freeman, Pekin; one son, Loren
Seigfreid, Carthage; two brothers Harley Boyer, Carthage, and Wilbur
Boyer, Long Beach, Calif., nine grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren;
and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, one daughter, two brothers, one
grandson and one great-granddaughter.
Services were held Thursday in the Lamporte Funeral Home Carthage, the
Rev. Charles Ferguson officiating. Burial was in Thornber Cemetery near
Powellton.
Memorials to the Hancock County Health Center or the Carthage Senior
Citizens Center have been established.

2:20 P.M. Saturday ( Dec. 5, 1987) in University of Iowa Hospital, Iowa
City.
Mr. Boyer was born Aug. 28, 1906, the son of William S. and Addie M.
Woodruff Boyer in Tazwell County near Pekin. He married Delma Rose
Miller on Jan.. 14, 1933, in Dallas City. He was a member of Adrian
Christian Church.
Survivors include one brother, Wilbert Boyer of Long Beach, Calif. and
several neices and nephews. Mrs. Boyer was preceded in death by his
wife, his parents and a brother and sister in infancy.
Services will be conducted at 1:30 P.M. today at Neiser Funeral Home in
Carthage by the Rev. Charles Ferguson.
Burial will be in Moss Ridge Cemetery in Carthage. A memorial has been
established at Burnside Christian Church.

Charles C. Richards, 70, of Port St. Lucie, Florida, died Tuesday,
February 4, 2003, at Hospice of Martin & St. Lucie (Florida).
The Hancock County native retired from the Air Force after 21 years,
served in the Korean War and retired as a director of food service for
the state of Florida. He was a Mason and a Kentucky Colonel.
Survivors include his wife, Janice Richards; two sons, Randall Richards
and Ricky Richards, both of Atlanta; two daughters, Lynn Donahue and
Angela Richards, both of Daytona, Florida; a stepson, Alex Jewell of
Boynton Beach, Florida; seven grandchildren; three brothers, Carl
Richards of Owensboro, Edward Richards of Tell City, Indiana and Glen
Richards of Louisville; and four sisters, Norma Evans of Whitesville,
Alice R. Stamps and Ann Wells, both of Georgetown, and Marlene Wheatley
of Hawesville.
Services were held February 7 at All County Funeral Home and Crematory
Treasure Coast Chapel in Stuart, Florida. Expressions of sympathy may
